What Happens Next?
Under Nevada law, insurance settlements and benefits are considered income and subject to garnishment for payment of court ordered child support obligations. Once a match is identified, an Income Withholding Order (IWO) is sent to the insurance company to intercept disbursement of the claimant / obligor's settlement or benefits for payment of child support.
